Danielle Blair Named UAB Scholar-Athlete Of The Week

Junior defender excels on the field and in the classroom for the Blazers

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Women's soccer player Danielle Blair has been honored as UAB's Scholar-Athlete of the Week. The junior defender from Scarborough, Ontario, has been a standout for the Blazers on the field and in the classroom.

Blair has been awarded the Academic Medal of Honor by Conference USA for two consecutive seasons, while also being listed on the C-USA Honor Roll.

On the field, Blair is now in her third season starting at defender for the Blazers. She has started a combined 25 games during her career in the Green and Gold, tallying one goal and one assist.

Blair and her Blazer teammates open conference play this weekend with a pair of home games. UAB hosts UCF at 7 p.m. Friday and Southern Miss at 2 p.m. Sunday.
