BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Caitlin Marple, a senior member of the Blazer women's soccer team has been named the UAB Scholar-Athlete of the Week. Marple is a steady force for the Blazers on the field and an accomplished student in the classroom.

Marple has started 15 games for UAB this season, recording 17 shots and five shots on goal. In her four-year career, she has started 72 games and tallied 10 points on two goals and six assists.

Away from the field, Marple has found success, as well. She has been named to the Conference USA Honor Roll in each of her first three seasons at UAB. She joins Danielle Blair as the second women's soccer player to earn the UAB Scholar-Athlete of the Week award this fall.

Marple and the Blazers close out their regular season schedule Thursday with a 7 p.m. kickoff against Memphis at West Campus Field.
