BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Senior defender Danielle Blair was named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America second team as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Tuesday. Blair is the fifth different Blazer in program history to earn the honor.

Blair owns a 4.0 GPA as a triple-major in marketing, management and industrial distribution with a minor in sales certificate. The Scarborough, Ontario native is a three-time C-USA Academic Medal and Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient and was twice named to the C-USA All-Academic Team.

On the pitch, the senior defender started all 21 matches this season for the Blazers and helped UAB to a school-best- 8-0 start.

Blair was among four players from Conference USA to earn the accolades, as Rice's Erin Scott received second-team honors, while Vendula Strnadova of Memphis and Katelyn Ostendorf of Rice were named to the third team.
