Danielle Keplinger Added To Cross Country And Track And Field Staff
June 19, 2007 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Danielle Keplinger, who has spent the past two years at Georgia Southern as an assistant with the Eagles' cross country and track and field program, has been named assistant coach at UAB, announced Blazers' head coach Ray Stanfield. Keplinger, whose main focus at UAB will be working with the distance runners, will join Stanfield and current assistant coach John David Harris to round out the Blazers' staff. "Danielle will be a great addition to my staff here at UAB," said Stanfield. "She is young and extremely energetic about our sport. "With her running and coaching background, along with Coach Harris' tremendous first year here with me, the UAB track program has again made great strides." A former distance runner herself, Keplinger was a four-year letterwinner in both cross country and track at Auburn University, earning her bachelor's degree in physical education in 2005. Following her college career, she served a two-year stint as an assistant coach at Georgia Southern University. During her time with the Eagles, she helped coach the women's track and field team to its first-ever Southern Conference outdoor championship in 2007.
